This site will always be under construction because
I like the little men who appear to be pounding sand.
So it has a double meaning.
One, I will be making periodic changes to this page and
Two, “go pound sand” seems to reflect my sentiments
although some people say that I have a bad case of attitude.

My interests are:
Antarctic History.

The description of my page is:

OAEs-and-FNGs Email List

If you decide to become a member of this list I ask that you provide your name and age when you sign up. You can also list your Deep Freeze affiliation, if any, in the Occupation or Job line of the application form in the "My Profile" area of the "Onelist" web site. You can even post a picture if you so desire.
Once you become a member you can post to this list. Please try to limit postings to items and information which relate to Antarctica and/or Operation Deep Freeze only. Especially U.S. Navy related stuff. However, none of us can always resist the urge to forward a good joke, so be my guest.

When my daughter Kerry first saw this picture she asked me what it was. I told her that it was me when I was a baby. She then looked intently at the photo for several moments and asked; "Why were your eyes so red?" For those of you who do not know Kerry, she is a 30-year-old court reporter.

On the 17th of July 1996 I went to court and had my middle name changed to Penguin. I needed these credentials to assume my rightfull place in penguin leadership. In the near future all penguins will rise up and demand that Antarctica be returned to it's natural citizens--the penguins. When that happens I intend to lead them to victory.
The first link below will take you to a school report written by the 11-year-old son of a co-worker of mine. Scott is a fellow penguin freak and I thought this was a real neat story, so I asked permission to put it on my web page. I hope you enjoy the story as much as I do.

The second link will take you to my booklist, or at least part 1 of it anyway. I will eventually get all the parts updated for uploading. The eBay link will take you to my Ebay auction page.
The third link will take you to Dark and Stormy Night a story I wrote about my fantasy based on reality.
The fourth link will take you to Robert Bryans page. Robert, a starving artist and a Zoney has a recording studio here in Pensacola and I have offered to put an ad on the web for him.
The fifth link is in connection with an Interactive Electronic Training Manual (IETM)project I was working on from mid 1995 through the beginning of 1999. The team I was on took the entire 24 volume of the Navy Electricity and Electronics Training Series (NEETS)and formatted the text files in Standard Generalized Markup Language (SGML) then we imported the SGML files and associated graphic files into a browser environment. The product was then distributed to the fleet on a CD ROM. The link I have made is to a PDF file that I created from the IETM browser and converted it to PDF with Adobe Acrobat. This link represents one chapter out of one volume of the NEETS series.

This cover was designed by Daniel Parkin who made the 25 year cachet from a block of linoleum. Dan was a RM3 with Summer Support when I was Radio Division Chief. He went to South Pole as a civilian radio operator during DF82.

I obtained this French Antarctic cover in connection with the
C-130 recovery opeations at Dome Charlie when I was in summer support.
